Deny Sepaher founded Birch Tree Properties LLC in 2009 but this family-owned company started in 1958 when Joe Sepaher immigrated from Yugoslavia (currently Slovenia) and started as a general contractor in San Francisco. As Joe’s business grew, his family grew, marrying Martina Sepaher in 1968. She ultimately joined the family business. Joe would later hire Martina’s brother, Louis Stalcar (pictured), when he immigrated from Yugoslavia.
Deny Sepaher was born in 1970 and both Joe & Martina Sepaher instilled a strong work ethic and the importance of “doing it right the first time.”
Currently, Deny Sepaher oversees all aspects of the company but focuses his efforts on acquisition, leasing, and financing. Mr. Sepaher has been involved in real estate since 1993 in several capacities and is experienced evaluating all product types but the company’s investments are typically focused on multifamily, mixed-use and medical office. Mr. Sepaher has successfully acquired several value-add opportunities and continues to expand the company’s holdings throughout the West Coast.
Prior to forming Birch Tree Properties LLC, Deny Sepaher was Vice President at Highland Realty Capital, Inc., one of California’s leading commercial real estate finance firms. Prior positions include Manager of Project Finance and Banking at The Irvine Company, where he was responsible for financing over $150 million in loans and maintaining The Irvine Company’s corporate lines of credit and banking relationships. He also underwrote and analyzed various acquisition opportunities in their Acquisition Group while at The Irvine Company. He started his career as an appraiser then moved to Ernst & Young and KMPG as a real estate consultant.

Mike Dee works as an Asset Manager for properties located in Berkeley and Salt Lake City. He is also responsible for negotiating leases with our commercial tenants. He has been working with BTP since 2019.
